Since 2011 I have visited so many amazing places in Italy, that it would be shame not to share those trips with you all. I know there are few readers who have seen the stories over the past years in my old blog, but I thought it would be nice to go through some of my favorites and share them again. And to be honest, I am not so happy anymore about the quality of the old posts so it is also nice for me to share the trips again. So with this post I am starting a new Throwback Thursday (TBT) -series to take you back to Italy every week. I hope you enjoy it!
With the first TBT I am taking you all back to year 2012 and to the amazing Carnival of Venice. It was one of the highlight of my Erasmus trips as it was totally different from anything else I saw and visited during that time. This year the carnival is running from this Saturday (30 January) until the end of next week (9 of February). During these days Venice and actually all Veneto area is full of carnival related events and you can spot so many incredible costumes that I still keep wonder how a city so magical can get even more magical with all those characters around the city.
For sure the carnival is highly touristic, but I still like it. There is lot so see around the city and if you have the time and money (and you did your bookings advanced) you can participate all kind of activities from street concerts to luxurious Carnival balls with tickets so expensive I can only imagine what they offer there. And if you do not fish to participate any of the activities during the event, you can always take your camera and just go walking around the city and capture all the interesting things you see there. But be aware, there is hundreds of others also, so making a nice picture without a single tourist in it will be challenging.
