New chapter in life

Hi you, how is everything? A lot has happened, and finally, I have time to get back on track with blogging. This spring has been crazy, and I have been working so much it does not make any sense. I started my last internship earlier this year and for financial reasons, I decided I will also keep my other job. When you add two jobs together, it suddenly came to 55 to 70 hour work weeks – what the hell! And top of that, I have been doing my last school projects, working with several projects and started to look for a new job. It has not been easy, but somehow I have managed to pull it all together. And I am so happy about all the work I have done, as Monday I´ll start a new chapter in my life.

So what is happening? My internship is done, and I can start to plan my graduation. I also resigned from my part-time job earlier this week, as on Monday I am starting a new full-time job matching my education. I couldn´t be happier and more excited about all this!! I started to look for a new job already some months ago, and I have to tell you, it has been so much more stressing and difficult I could have ever imagined. I will write more about this later, as I think it is a topic I have a lot to say. So from super busy schedule and crazy working hours, I will go to normal Monday to Friday job. Honestly, can´t even fully understand how much more time I will have in the future. Or will I?

I have been working with a crazy timetable the past million years. I started to work part-time already when I was in high school, and only when I have been living abroad, I have not worked. I always have so much what I want to do, but with the work-school combo there just hasn’t been enough time for everything. So you can imagine it is really a huge change for me to have all evenings, weekends and holidays free from now on. I have about million plans for all the extra free time, and I can already feel how good this change is. I have huge plans for my blog (big changes coming this summer), I hired a personal trainer (more about this later), there are so many travel plans, I want to improve so many skills and take some courses, I also want to finally finish DIY projects I have started earlier and there are so many books waiting for me and and and.. One could say hello and goodbye free time, haha!

Hope everything is fine with you, enjoy the last days of May!

January where did you go?

Hi there, where did January go? I just realized few days a go, that it is already February and I have not been writing anything almost in a month. What a sad situation! The truth is, that January was crazy as after 5 months in the Netherlands, I went back to work and continued my studies in Finland. Plus I did move to my new home, and I was trying to see as many friends as possible. Top of all this, my computer started to act out and it was nearly impossible to edit any photos example. And to be honest, it has not been really easy to get used to life in Finland again. So there has been a lot going on, but here I am, still alive!

Today I have been editing photos like crazy and writing down topics for all the posts I want to write, so I hope I can start posting more frequently again. But before I share any new stories about all the amazing things happening lately in life, I want to sum up just a little the past month and tell what kind of stories you can expect to read in the upcoming days. And the winter photo above, that is from my moving day morning. It was a perfect day!

DIY projects will return big time!! I have already done some projects, like the coffee tables you see in the photo, and so many is still in the making. I was like a child in the candy shop, when after several months I opened my graft material boxes again. I have been painting, fixing, sewing and and.. stay tuned!

As a new years resolution I decided, that this year I will try something new in Helsinki every week. I will be posting everything related to that under 52 weeks in Helsinki -tag, and sharing all my tips with you throughout the year. HAM (Helsinki art museum) was something I experienced first time few weeks a go, and I have to say, that I enjoyed extremely lot Yayoi Kusama exhibition.

Just like last January, also this year I visited the Nordic travel fair. To be honest, Matka 2017 was somehow a huge disappointment to me. There was not too much new things when compared to last year, and many companies were using the same visuals. Only few new innovations were presented, and I really did not feel highly inspired when I left the fair.

Home and interior have been for sure the keywords every since I moved to my new home. I absolutely love the apartment, and could not be happier how it starts to look. I really feel I finally have a home, and it is nice to have all my things after few years of temporary solutions. More home related post coming soon, and meantime don´t forget to check my Instagram, as I am posting details of my home there.

I cannot not mention tulips when I am talking about January! I absolute love fresh flowers, and tulips are a must when it comes to flowers in winter/spring. I have had already several different colors, but these blush pinks have been so far my favorites.

The past days have been amazing when it comes to weather; so much sun and nicely cold. But only few weeks a go it was totally different; gray and rainy! So on the last Saturday of January I escaped the bad weather to the beautiful Winter gardens, and for those few hours it almost felt like I am not in Finland. More about that amazing place coming later!

In the beginning of January we had LUX light festival in Helsinki, and it was first time I have managed to be actually in Helsinki when it is happening. I don´t know why, but somehow I always end up being abroad or somewhere else during LUX. I am happy this year I could walk there from my home, wonder and be amazed by all the installations around the city. The one in the photo was one of my favorites!

Other than the things above, in January I went to few other museums, visited surprisingly many cafes (old favorites and new ones), got myself amazing internship position for the spring, spend a lot time with my friends, tested new recipes, took way too many photos again, find super nice things from the sales, started really cool school projects and and the year has definitely started good for me. I hope for you also!

Life volume 2 – me, myself and I

The past weeks I have been thinking how to write this post and should I even write it here. Maybe it is too personal, maybe it is not as beautiful and inspiring as I want everything to be here. But as the things in my life are the inspiration for this blog I want to give explanation for some things happening later this year. Maybe I can also help myself to move on. So what is going on?

The original plan for this year was to move to Italy with my hubby. I have planned this change a long time and step by step it was getting closer. We have a long history together and it seemed clear that the future would be build together also. But as I have learned the past years, life is definitely full of surprises and the plans change. I will not move to Italy this year, probably never. So it is just me, myself and I from now on. No hubby, no us. My life volume 2.

And what will happen now? Well now I have to figure out who I am, what I want from life, where I want to be and what I want to do. It is an opportunity to start fresh and clean where ever I want, what ever I want. It opens new possibilities but it is also scary. I have been so many year the girl with Italian hubby that I am not sure who I am without him. But I guess I will figure it out, little by little.

As I am not moving to Italy I need to find a new home, here in Finland. I have contract in my current apartment only till beginning of the summer so the next two and half months will be full of apartment hunting. And furniture hunting as I sold everything last summer and rented fully furnished apartment so that the moving from Finland would be easier. I also need to figure out how fast I want to finish my studies as now I am not hurry to go away anymore. Luckily my teachers have been super helpful and I have found amazing work placement opportunities for this spring and next autumn.

As I am planner with a big P I also want to sit down and thing what I want from the life the upcoming years as everything I planned is now gone. I think it is important to have some kind of a plan and goals – that way it is easier to reach those goals and work hard for the things you want in life. I have to think example do I want to buy apartment one day here? And do I want to create a career in Finland or maybe try to find a job from some other country? And is there some other goals in life I want to achieve? Big 30 is also coming closer, so where do I want to be by then?

From these thoughts to a lovely weekend, go and enjoy the sun!

P.S Italy will be part of this blog  in the future also, but I think I will take advantage of the situation and travel the next years everywhere else than there! Stay tuned, I have some nice trip ideas for this year.
